Your Battle Plan Against The Mold Invasion
Like the melon-sized pods in the cult movie “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” that consumed every person they touched, millions of green mold spores are wafting unseen around our homes, offices, and movie theaters silently attacking our lungs, sinuses, and eyes.
These microscopic particles floating around the Atlanta area in the greatest quantities in more than a century are triggering allergies, asthma, headaches, stuffy noses, itchy eyes, wheezing, flu like symptoms, and most of all fatigue.
Mold neither plant nor animal, but a fungus that grows, feeds and multiples by spreading seeds called spores can live virtually eternal as long as there is moisture such as high humidity, roof leaks, plumbing leaks, crawl space wetness, and floods.
Toxic forms of mold or black mold which is called Stachybotrys must have water to survive and it will eat wood, sheetrock, paper, and all cellulose materials. Other forms of mold such as Aspergillus/Penicillium, which is actual penicillium, are extremely light spores and float in the air and we ingest them. It is what we do not see in the air that can harm us the most as mold attacks weak immune systems in pets, children, seniors, or anyone with a weakened immune system due to illness or disease.
Doctors are writing many forms of prescriptions to their patients sometimes guessing what to prescribe and it turns out to be the indoor air quality inside homes
and businesses that are making people extremely sick.
Mold spores are suspected in the tripling of the asthma rate in the past 20 years as we want to have a true “Green Home” trying to save energy and not refreshing the air inside of our homes it is like living in a balloon breathing the same air over and over again and asking how can my home make me ill?
Simple indoor air quality sampling by a certified environmental inspector, microbiology testing, and written solutions can reveal an enormous amount of information about the air that you are breathing and a course of action to lowering levels to a safe level. Costs for all of these services should be approximately $295.00 a small amount to pay for you and your families health.
Oh and one final statement bleach does not kill mold, it will discolor the mold, and the water in bleach feeds the mold but call a professional if there are health issues before touching any mold as you may create a worse problem.
